Osiris HPSC Computer Module: High-Performance Computing for Space Missions
The PDC Osiris HPSC Computer Module is a high-performance, SWaP-optimised SpaceVPX computing platform designed for next-generation spacecraft, satellite payloads and autonomous space systems.
Powered by Microchip’s PIC64-HPSC processor family, it delivers up to 26,000 DMIPS and 1 TFLOPS in a compact 3U form factor.
The Osiris HPSC Computer Module addresses this challenge by combining advanced processing capability with a modular SpaceVPX architecture.
It is available in software development board, radiation-tolerant SBC and radiation-hardened SBC configurations, supporting the transition from early software development to mission-ready deployment.
Based on the PIC64-HPSC architecture, the module is suited to applications where spacecraft systems must process data locally and respond quickly, reducing dependence on ground control.
This is particularly relevant for missions involving autonomous operations, image and signal processing, object detection, communications management and payload data handling.
NASA identifies these capabilities as essential for increasingly complex lunar, planetary and deep-space missions.
The Osiris HPSC Computer Module can support:
- Onboard satellite and spacecraft computing.
- Payload data processing and instrument control.
- Autonomous navigation and decision-making.
- Image, video and signal processing.
- Artificial intelligence and machine-learning workloads.
- Spacecraft communications and data management.
- Earth observation and remote sensing.
- Robotic, lunar and planetary exploration.
- High-performance avionics and distributed spacecraft architectures.
- Defence and aerospace systems requiring radiation-aware processing.
