International Women's Day

How Milexia continues to advocate for gender equality this International Women’s Day 2024.

At Milexia France ,we are pleased to announce that we have increased our points score on the 2024 Gender Equality Index, once again demonstrating our strong commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

This includes:

  • Gender Pay Gap Indicator: Up 35 points.
  • Individual Pay Increase Indicator: Up by 35 points.
  • Employees receiving a pay rise in the year following return from maternity leave: Up 15 points.
  • Number of female employees among the ten employees with the highest salaries: Up 5 points.

Overall, Milexia France achieved 90 points out of a possible 100, well ahead of the EU average of 70.2.

This comes ahead of International Women’s Day 2024 (8th March), the event organised by UN Women that aims to deliver “programmes, policies and standards that uphold women’s human rights and ensure that every woman and girl lives up to her full potential.”

Milexia’s Commitment to Gender Equality

Milexia France has a long-standing philosophy of inclusion, believing that our relationship with society is important and that working to integrate it throughout all our activities is a priority.

These recent figures further demonstrate our commitment to gender equality, providing a positive working environment, striving to improve, and generating a culture of trust and fairness.

What is the Gender Equality Index?

Developed by The European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) and first used in 2013, the index measures gender equality and helps to monitor progress, highlight areas for improvement and help policy members ensure equal rights for all.

It uses 31 indicators to measure gender equality and covers the following:

  • Work
  • Money
  • Knowledge
  • Time
  • Power and Health
  • Violence against Women
  • Intersecting Inequalities

The Index awards the EU as a whole and each member state with a score between 1 and 100. If a country achieves 100, it means there is full gender equality in the country. Although no country has achieved this status, Sweden remains in the lead at 82.2%.

“When reviewing these new figures, it’s clear that Milexia France is steps ahead of most of Europe and even France itself (75.7 points). When it comes to gender equality, there remains much to be done, and at Milexia we are striving to make a positive contribution, said Maria G. Gonzalez, Milexia Group Chief Compliance Officer.
