The definitive tool for scanning acoustic tomography

Hitachi Power Solutions has been developing the cutting-edge of acoustic tomography solutions for over 40 years. Primarily active in Asia until recently, the company has now introduced a new model, the FineSAT V, to serve the European and American acoustic microscopy market.

The FineSAT V offers industry-leading specifications for accurate, high speed inspection of electronic components and semiconductors. Using ultrasonic wave technology, this instrument allows for scanning speeds up to 2,000mm per second, with precision acquisition of up to 2,000 million points.

As a result, users of the FineSAT V can identify defects at high resolution, down to the micrometre level.

A diverse range of installed probes allow for scanning from 5MHz up to 300MHz in a single unit. The instrument is designed with ergonomics in mind, allowing for rapid sample loading and easy visualization during analysis.

Scanning Acoustic MicroscopyHitachi Power Solutions have achieved an impressive 25% boost to scanning speeds through a reduction in pulse generation cycles, complemented by an in-built high-speed scanner. A unique, rigid frame designed for the FineSAT V accommodates these enhancements, minimising vibration during analysis to allow ultra-crisp images at elevated scanning speeds.

Designed for excellence across various acoustic microscopy applications

The FineSAT V represents the culmination of decades of development in scanning acoustic microscopy. This model is supported by a 64-bit processing system, allowing for a suite of software integrations which unlock impressive analytical possibilities.

The FineSAT V offers image definition of up to 400 million dots in standard specification mode, with optional specification mode enabling up to 2-billion-point definition. This is in addition to image data at 10 µm and below, in optional specification, and a 20 µm pitch in standard specification – a significant improvement over the 40 µm minimum pitch offered by the Hitachi FineSAT III.

A broader range of image display types, plus a larger 23-inch monitor, make it suitable for a huge range of analytical techniques. Milexia is placed to offer and provide ongoing support for the FineSAT V as the definitive choice for scanning acoustic tomography users, no matter their industry or project purpose.

Uniquely adaptable for installation and easy use in any laboratory

Not only offering industry-leading analytical power and detail, the FineSAT V is designed for equally effective use across a diverse range of industrial and research environments.

Helpful features include options to choose a flap scanner door or anti-static transparent pane, depending on user preference, enabling effective deployment in clean rooms as well as in conventional laboratory spaces. Antistatic panels are also applied to the control areas, minimising the impact of user-generated static electricity on the analysis process.

A dedicated local switch box, located between the unit and the display/keyboard area, allows users to adjust probe positions without having to use the integrated mouse or keyboard. This allows for minor probe adjustments without looking away from your activity, further enhancing ease of use.
