Milexia Italia for Opera San Francesco per i Poveri

Once again this year, Milexia Italia confirms its commitment to supporting local communities by renewing its contribution to the Christmas Lunch organised at the Piazzale Velasquez canteen, one of the key services managed by Opera San Francesco per i Poveri in Milan.

The Piazzale Velasquez canteen, inaugurated in 2017 as a complement to the historic canteen in Corso Concordia, welcomes people facing social, health or age-related vulnerability, offering hot meals every day and a warm, welcoming environment. Located next to the outpatient clinic in Via Antonello da Messina, it forms a real hub of assistance services dedicated to the most vulnerable groups in the city.

Every day, except on Saturdays, the canteen serves more than 300 meals at lunchtime, relying on the constant commitment of volunteers who ensure an organised service and close attention to the needs of its guests.

For Milexia Italia, supporting the Christmas Lunch means going beyond a financial contribution: it is a concrete act of corporate social responsibility, aimed at strengthening a culture of solidarity and demonstrating closeness to those experiencing hardship in our city.

Thanks to the joint efforts of volunteers and staff, even during the Christmas festivities many people will be able to sit at a table, receive a meal, and feel the presence of a caring community around them.

Our heartfelt thanks go to Opera San Francesco per i Poveri for their ongoing dedication in providing daily assistance services and for giving us the opportunity to contribute to initiatives that generate a positive impact on people’s lives.

We invite you to support Opera San Francesco per i Poveri and their important initiatives: Opera San Francesco per i poveri – OSF

Milexia Italia alongside the Vigili del Fuoco Volontari di Lazzate

This contribution stems from the desire to offer concrete help to the Lazzate Volunteer Fire Department Detachment, which works tirelessly to protect citizens and the territory.

The Detachment, composed and run entirely by volunteer personnel, devotes time, energy and passion to the community, making their mission an example of extraordinary selflessness and dedication.

We are happy to be able to contribute to their important work and support those who, every day, work for the safety of us all.

Milexia Italia supports Opera San Francesco over the festive period

Founded over 60 years by the Friars Minor Capuchin of Milan, OSF is a secular institution governed by civil law, whose roots are in a meeting between an enlightened entrepreneur and the Franciscan charity of Fra Cecilio Cortinovis. The friars oversee all the governance bodies of the Association and Foundation, also serving as managers, coordinating activities, supervising volunteers, and continuing to function as figures of reference for both workers and guests.

The Food Kitchen was OSF’s first facility and is a place where people in difficulty can receive a nourishing, balanced and complete meal for free at both lunch and dinnertime. Thanks to the help of its volunteers, guests are offered the same things – hot meals, someone to talk to and comfort in a discreet and welcoming environment – since the opening of the first Food Kitchen in 1959.

Over the years, the facility has been modernised and expanded – now there are two Food Kitchens – but the values of hospitality are the same as they were over 60 years ago. Today, OSF can serve meals to over 3,000 people a day.

Milexia Italia is proud to has been supporting this local charity since 2022 in its ongoing support of the poorest members of our local community. If you would like to find out more about the work that they do or even to make a donation yourself, please visit Food Kitchen in Corso Concordia – OSF.

New Partner: Quanergy

LiDAR, (Light Detection and Ranging), is a time-of-flight detection technology of a low-power, eye-safe pulsating laser, measuring the time it takes for the laser to hit the target and return to the sensor. The resulting aggregate data is used to generate an image, 3D point cloud, providing spatial location and depth information to identify, classify and track moving objects.

Product overview:

  • LiDAR Solutions  As a leading provider of LiDAR platforms, Quanergy offers a comprehensive product portfolio that includes hardware and software perception sensors. Detection capabilities include both mechanical 3D LiDAR and 100% solid state LiDAR. Together, AI-based intelligent perception hardware and software technologies are combined to create a single Quanergy Flow Management ™ platform to enable sophisticated solutions for industries such as smart cities, smart spaces, security and industrial automation.
  • High-performance mechanical sensors of the M series are the main mechanical LiDARs for mapping, security and smart city and smart space applications. With industry-leading precision and point cloud density, M-Series LiDAR sensors also offer long-range coverage and real-time 3D perception.
  • Solid State Sensors S-Series sensors are true 100% solid-state LiDARs based on the first Optical Phased Array (OPA) technology. With electronic guidance with no moving parts, these rugged, ultra-reliable LiDAR sensors are immune to vibration and provide more than 100,000 hours of Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF). In addition, the cost-effective and scalable silicon CMOS process allows for an extremely affordable cost for mass production.
  • Flow Management Platform Quanergy’s AI-based 3D LiDAR flow management technology provides a modular, scalable and advanced perception platform to enable real-time analytics for people counting, object detection, classification, tracking and more. The Quanergy Flow Management ™ platform consists of three different products, M series with QORTEX DTC ™ (Detect, Track, Classify), S3-2 with QORTEX ™ Access Control, S3-2 with QORTEX ™ People Counter. Together, they are designed to solve a wide range of applications in shops, airports, public premises, commercial and government buildings and industrial facilities.
